visit southbound.ph!!! :D

hello all,

i'd like to invite everyone to visit our site at www.southbound.ph. it's a sort of cross between a blog and a magazine (right now it's more blog than magazine, but we have a lot of other ideas that will be implemented soon) that's all about things in the south: restaurants, bars, shops, spas, grocery stores, parks, clubs, events, you name it. it's brand spanking new, so we've only got a few articles so far, but we plan to post regularly (so far our schedule is every two days), and we're actively scouting out new places, so we expect that you'll come across something interesting and useful.

we plan to build the site into a sort of index / directory and portal for all things in the south. aside from the blog, we're planning to put up a forum, a directory, and other useful features. we hope it will provide useful information for residents and visitors of the south and also serve as a way of developing a stronger southern community. even if you're not from the south, please feel free to check out the site and learn more about our neck of the woods--you never know kung kelan kayo mapapadpad dito!

we welcome your comments, suggestions, and ideas on places to feature. we also welcome contributors for articles and photography. just email southbound.ph@gmail.com. :)

please help spread the word and support our little community! thanks!!!

Turning My Safety Off Video and Single Launch

Just doing my part to spread the word...

The video launch of Sino Sikat?'s new single (fast climbing the charts, now number 3 on NU 107's Stairway to Seven countdown, after only a week of airplay) "Turning My Safety Off" will be held this coming September 23, 2006 at Tavern in Greenbelt 3 (in front of Music One).

The band's friends (and fans!) will gather at 9PM. There's no cover charge, so Makati folks, if you're already in the area, please do drop by and to see and hear what the fuss about Sino Sikat? is all about. The dress code is variously described as "strictly groovy" and "fashionably loud," but hey, you're in Greenbelt on a Saturday anyway, so you'll probably be dressed to the nines.

For more about Sino Sikat?, check out their My Space site or join their Yahoo! group. Sa mga dakilang taga UP Arki, si Nick po yung nagsulat ng kanta na yan. ;)

That's all folks! Hope to see you there! :D

Venus Reviewer

Hi folks! Does anyone have the contact number for Arch. Venus? Super useful na resource yung reviewer compilation nya, and I'm sure a lot of reviewees will want to get their own copy.

I have my set but in a few weeks time I'll be passing them on to a friend, so if anyone out there wants to coordinate with me (or my friend) to borrow them for photocopy, let me know. Baka we can work out a way to make copies. I'm based in the South, so I guess this applies to people in the area. Anybody in QC / Manila / anywhere else who's willing to lend their copy to people in those areas? Those who need copies, coordinate na lang by posting comments here.

Other reviewers that I have include the CDEP Basic notes, CDEP Refresher notes, CDEP sample exams, JPT Structural sample exams, and Salvan's book.

One of these days I hope I get around to posting very detailed instructions on applying for the exam at the PRC, based on personal experience. Baka you guys might want to share also. :)

Also, does anyone know when the next review cycle starts?

Yun lang muna po. :)

Congratulations to the New Architects!

congratulations! and so begins another cycle...

hey everybody! i'd like to congratulate all the folks who passed the board exam this june/july. it took a lot of hard work, but it was worth it!

in the meantime, i guess life grinds on, and other people will start their own review process in preparation for the january exam. for those who have finished, it may be a good opportunity to help others out, share your knowledge and experiences, and pass on those tall stacks of reviewers littering your house!

let's keep the site alive to help others in the future. so spread the word and share your thoughts! see you guys around. :)

PRC Info

To set the record straight, I called PRC to ask about the requirements. Some important points to note:

1. Hindi kelangan na one project per page sa logbook. One mentor per page lang ang requirement. Pwedeng one project per line, and yung FOP ilalagay lang sa corresponding box. No need to repeat the project on different lines kung merong iba ibang FOP.

2. Sabi nung guy na kausap ko hindi daw totoo na one week ang processing para sa logbook. Same day processing lang daw.

I've uploaded some files from the PRC website and a summary of requirements to our Yahoogroup.

Online review

Hehe, the wonders of technology.

Anyway, to all those who might be interested, there would be an online review class that would be launched this coming May 8. Just got wind of it from a classmate in CDEP. I don't know much about the details except that CDEP has something to do with it and it's a prepaid internet service. Anyway, please check this link about the online review.
